Every raptor rescue brings us closer to a healthier environment.

Due to proximity to an ever-growing human sprawl, wild raptors often suffer unfortunate results. Whether it be window strikes, car collisions, or nest interference, the birds involved require experienced and specialized help.

Riverside Raptors is located on prime Merlin habitat in north central Ontario. Merlins are one of Ontario smallest native falcons. At our facility we specialize in Wild Hacking young, orphaned Merlins back to the wild. We do this by providing safe and protected nest boxes tucked safely in the woods away from human contact.

We blind feed the young so that they never associate people with food. As they become ready to fly, they have acres of perfect merlin type habitat on the property to learn and test their hunting skills with continued blind support for those days when wild food eludes them.

Over the years we have assisted several young dashing falcons successfully transition to the wild. With this specialized care, we look forward to continuing to provide this safe haven for Merlins and facilitate their chance to assume a wild life.
